Songs in the Key of Life was released as a double album plus EP on September 28, 1976, with Sir Duke, Isn't She Lovely, and As. Wonder celebrated Duke Ellington, his daughter's birth, and global unity across 21 tracks. Sessions included Herbie Hancock, Minnie Risperton, and a young Deniece Williams.

Why it still matters
