ChronoFive Play today’s puzzle

Privacy

Last updated: August 2, 2026. This page explains what ChronoFive stores in your browser and what may sync to our servers (with or without an account).

Overview

You can play the daily puzzle without creating an account. Optional sign-in and Chrono+ add cross-device sync and paid features. We do not sell your personal information.

Local storage (browser)

ChronoFive uses your browser’s localStorage (and limited sessionStorage) to keep:

Clearing site data for this origin deletes that local information in that browser.

Accounts (Supabase Auth)

If you sign in with Google or email, authentication is handled by Supabase. We store your account identity as needed to provide the service (for example user id and email associated with the auth provider).

Synced gameplay data

When signed in, we may sync:

When you play without signing in, we may also sync (tied to the local leaderboard player id in this browser, not to an email account):

Anonymous play analytics are used to improve the game and for aggregated research (for example how players date historical events). They are not public, are not shown on leaderboards, and are not sold. Clearing this site’s browser data removes the local id that links future guest play from this device.

Account round history is not public and is not used to power public leaderboards. It exists so personal Insights, the Seen Events Timeline, and related Chrono+ tools can reflect games you already played—including games completed while on a free account before you upgrade.

With Chrono+, Saved Story bookmarks (event ids only) and wheel appearance preferences can sync to your account across devices.

Payments (Stripe)

Chrono+ checkout and customer portal are provided by Stripe. Payment card details are handled by Stripe, not stored in ChronoFive’s client. We receive subscription status needed to unlock features, including whether a yearly free trial has been used. Trial eligibility and renewal dates are enforced server-side via Stripe and your account profile.

Advertising and cookies

ChronoFive may show ads through Google AdSense and similar partners. Third parties, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser, or use similar technologies (such as web beacons or IP addresses), to collect information and serve ads—including personalized ads based on your visits to this and other sites.

You can learn how Google uses data when you use partner sites here: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can also manage ad personalization in your Google account and through your browser controls.

The game itself does not require ads to store your puzzle progress. Chrono+ subscribers may play without ads when that benefit is active.

Sharing and clipboard

Share actions may use the Web Share API or copy text to your clipboard at your request. That content stays on your device unless you paste or send it elsewhere.

External links

Event sources may link to Wikipedia. Those sites have their own privacy practices.

Retention and deletion

Local data lasts until you clear it or overwrite it. Cloud account data is retained while your account exists and as needed to operate the service. To request deletion of account-associated cloud data, contact us from the email on the account when possible.
